How does Pokeval work?
Snap a photo of your Pokemon card with your phone or computer, upload it to Pokeval, and our AI identifies it in under 3 seconds: the Pokemon, the set, the number, the rarity, the language and the year. You then get a price estimate, a business score, an authenticity analysis and a grading recommendation.
Is it really free?
Yes, 100% free. No sign-up, no credit card, no limits. You can scan as many cards as you want. Pokeval is funded by MLJ SAS so you can make the smartest decisions about your Pokemon cards.
Which languages does Pokeval recognize?
Pokeval reads every language printed on Pokemon cards: English, French, Japanese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Korean, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Indonesian and Thai. The AI automatically detects the language during the scan.
Are the price estimates reliable?
Prices are estimated by cross-referencing public data from eBay, Cardmarket, TCGPlayer and PriceCharting. These are indicative estimates. For a significant transaction, always double-check prices on the platforms directly. Pokeval gives you clickable links to each source so you can verify in a single click.
How does Pokeval spot fake cards?
The AI analyzes several visual cues: card texture, font, colors, print quality, centering and edges. It assigns an authenticity score from 0 to 100. It's not a professional appraisal, but it's an excellent first filter to avoid obvious scams.
What is Grading ROI?
Pokeval automatically calculates whether grading your card (PSA, CGC, BGS) is worth it. We estimate the likely grade based on the visual condition, compare the raw price to the potential graded price, subtract the grading cost, and give you a clear recommendation: "Grade it!", "Consider it" or "Don't grade".
How many cards can I scan at once?
Two modes: Batch upload of up to 20 cards at a time, or Table scan where you take a single photo with several cards spread out, and the AI detects each card automatically. Perfect for flea markets and yard sales where you need to evaluate a pile of cards fast.
What is Flea Market Mode?
It's a fast scanning mode using your live camera. Point the camera at a card and the AI identifies it instantly. If the card has value, a sound alert lets you know right away. Ideal for working through a big pile at a flea market without snapping photos one by one.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. Pokeval runs
100% in your browser. Your collection, your notes, your history: everything stays local (localStorage) on your device. We don't store any personal data on our servers. Photos sent to the AI for analysis are not kept. See our
privacy policy.
Can I export my collection?
Yes, in one click. Pokeval exports your entire collection as CSV (Excel compatible) with every field: name, set, number, rarity, value, purchase price, margin, business score, date. Perfect for your bookkeeping or for sharing your collection.
Is Pokeval affiliated with Nintendo or The Pokemon Company?
No, Pokeval is an independent tool. Pokemon, Pikachu and all related trademarks are owned by Nintendo, The Pokemon Company and Creatures Inc. Pokeval is not sponsored or endorsed by these entities. It's a tool built by collectors, for collectors.
